What I learned in the HEB parking lot.

Ever catch yourself just people watching? I didn't realize I was doing it, Jesse ran into HEB for a gallon of milk on the way home from a family day outing and I was stuck in the car with two sleeping beauties. I noticed quiet a few things I would like to share with you guys!

1.) The average age for an outside HEB "cart-go-getter" is about 17... and male. (Not really important, just an observation.)
2.) The ritzy women spend more time prepping themselves (touching up makeup and quick hair taming...cleaning smudges off their children and fixing their daughter's bows or tucking in their son's shirts) than they actually spend in the store!
3.) The ghetto fabulous park as far as possible from the entrance of the store so they have plenty of time to practice their "swag" before they get to the door. If they miss a limp in their walk, they stop for a minute to adjust their pants and try it again.
4.) Teenagers are the ultimate multi taskers...it takes serious talent to be able to park your car, walk to and from the store, and drive off all the while NEVER LOOKING UP FROM YOUR PHONE!
5.) The younger single men always go to HEB looking like they just stepped out of a serious work out at the gym...even when its pretty obvious some have never seen the inside of one.
6.) Mothers of little boys come out of the store looking seriously more pissed off than the mothers of little girls.
7.) When a kid goes grocery shopping with their dad... there is a guaranteed candy treat at check out! "Don't tell your mother" is heard often while walking to the car...chocolate smeared all over the child's face only seconds from leaving the store.
8.) A tye dye shirt and a mullet? Seriously dude? This is HEB, not Walmart...have a little more class!
9.) Ladies wearing spandex should know better! There should be a memo at the door to HEB that says "Please check yourself for camel toe"
10.) People have no idea some weird chick is watching them from her car in the parking lot....wondering why the heck it takes so long for her husband to get a gallon of milk? :)

Thank Heaven for Little Girls!

Gotta love having little girls! Charlye's hair is finally long enough for it to hold clips and bows so I've been going crazy the past few days making all kinds of girly stuff for my lil boogers! Since most of these are not my original designs I will not be selling them! (Nobody likes a copy cat! I've had this happen to me where someone took my necklace designs...pretty much bead for bead and sold it about $10 cheaper. I was NOT HAPPY...so I would never do that to someone else!) So everything you see below are for personal use! I just wanted to share with yall because I'm proud, they were a joy to make and given my last entry I needed a break from making things that make me want to cry! My girls love them...well Farryn does, Charlye only likes the small ones she forgets about after I've held her hands away from her head for at least 5 minutes! ;)

Charlye will wear this for about 5 seconds before she takes it off...but its the most beautiful 5 seconds I've ever seen! :)

The hat Layla made famous! Farryn wanted one so badly I made her and Charlye matching ones. Hobby Lobby sells the crochet hats and I made several flowers (see above) to interchange to match anything!

Hobby Lobby also sells kits for all kinds of holiday crafts! I used the Easter themed kit to create these!

Prayer Pendants

Most of you by now have heard of Layla Grace. The sweet little two year old angel who recently passed away from Neurblastoma Cancer. During her fight I decided to make a necklace in her honor, a prayer pendant as a fundraiser for the Marsh Family to help out with her medical bills. Her story has touched so many people in ways that...well to be honest I can't even find the right words to explain. I spent a several nights just rocking my babies and thanking God for all he's done for us, yelling at God for all the pain so many kids are enduring and then finding myself heartbroken and mourning over these sweet babies that aren't even mine. Its been a roller coaster of emotions the past few weeks and a lot of confusion on my faith (I'm slowly figuring that part out). But thankfully with Layla Grace coming into our lives though some of us have created new friendships, become closer to our own children and learned to have a little more patience (something I'm still working on) and just ENJOY all those little moments that as we know in life can be taken away with little to no warning. Not everyone gets a chance to say goodbye so make everyday count! I want to share with everyone something my new friend (Thank you Layla) Kelly sent me....it definitely helped see a brighter side of a darker time for so many people.

"The Brave Little Soul"

Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who
took wonder in observing the world. She especially enjoyed the love she saw
there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul
was sad, for on this day she saw suffering in the world. She approached God and
sadly asked, "Why do bad things happen: why is there suffering in the
world?"

God paused for a moment and replied, "Little soul, do
not be sad, for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people's hearts." The
little soul was confused. "What do you mean?" she asked. " God replied, "Have
you not noticed the goodness and love that is offspring of that suffering? Look
at how many people come together, drop there differences and show their love and
compassion for those who suffer. All their other motivations disappear and they
become motivated by love alone."

The little soul began to understand and listened
attentively as God continued, "the suffering soul unlocks the love in people's
hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I
created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people
keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their
love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. I tell you this- it is
the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world
and suffer- to unlock this love- to create this miracle- for the good of all
humanity."

Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea that
could hardly contain herself. With her wings fluttering, bouncing up and down,
the little soul excitedly replied, "I am brave; let me go!!! I would love to go
into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people's
hearts! I want to create that miracle!!"

God smiled and said, "You are a brave soul I know, and
thus, I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not
be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you
would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on
your journey. Those souls will help create your miracle; however they will also
share in your suffering. Two of these souls are the most special and will care
for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have
already chosen a name for you."

God and the brave little soul shared a smile, and then
embraced. In parting, God said "Do not forget little soul that I will be with
you always. Although you have agreed to bear pain, you will do so through my
strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered
enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be
healed."

Thus at the moment the brave little soul was born into
the world, and through her suffering and God's strength, she unlocked the
goodness and love in people's hearts. For so many people dropped their
differences and game together to show their love. Priorities became properly
aligned. People gave from their hearts. Those that were also too busy found
time. Many began new spiritual journeys- some regained lost faith- many came
back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew
closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family
reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and
love reigned. Lives changed forever. It was good. The world was a better place.
The miracle had happened.

God was pleased...

I was really touched by that so thank you Kelly for passing that along. :) It definitely helped! After Kelly bought a Layla Grace Pendant, her friend Robin contacted me about making one for a little girl she new in Huffman, Texas named Alexia. Alexia passed away from Glioblastoma, a severe brain tumor on March 18Th. Age five....can you imagine? As a mother of an almost 2 year old and an almost 5 year old, these pendants are extremely difficult and sad for me to make them but I feel honored to do so and would like to continue help out in anyway I can. Each Pendant is $25. With $10 of the proceeds for each going to Marsh Family and the Surdukan's. (Previously I was donating $20 of all proceeds from the Layla Grace Pendants because her family are members of my church but I can no longer afford to do so due to the cost of supplies and the time it takes to create these pendants. And that wouldn't be fair to Alexia's family so I hope yall can understand why this has changed! I will be updating the website immediately!). New Name, Same Game! ;)

The Double H is no longer in fame, as Rodeo Ritz is the new domain! (I don't always rhyme I promise). Since it was such a mouthful for my clients to remember the full domain (previously www.DoubleHHollysHobbies.com. Whew, see what I mean?!) I decided to name the company something a little catchier and easier to remember. So Rodeo Ritz was put to vote among a few others and won with little to none competition. It rolls off the tongue...unless you have a slight Drew Barrymore lissssssp like me! ;)
